Wekfest SJ 2017

Not for the Wek.

What one would imagine Wekfest to be, is what one should expect. Lines stretching the upper floor of the convention center to the sick rides from all the surrounding states, even Washington. Wekfest is the epicenter of our humble scene in California. While other events have their vibe, their ideology, their niche, Wekfest seems to bring out raw spirit, raw passion, and pure quality. The arena for the best of the best, duking it out for the top prize. Builds date back to several decades, including the 60’s, all in their rare form to restomod creations. 90’s H badges built true to their periods with modern touches while modern day Japanese muscle are dressed to battle.

So Cal’s IDL

This generation of designers and builders exceed the imagination and fulfill ones fantasy, through individuality or team spirit. I can seriously go on and on, but pictures will share a thousand thoughts.

NVUS was no Joke!

Wekfest LB 2017 – Gallery

Once again LB Wekfest didn’t disappoint. Lines as long as the latest Yezzy release and cars stacked like precious art work, presented itself at the Queen Mary Event Center. QMEC, known for its beautiful view and oceanic vibe with a walking short distance from the Aquarium of the Pacific and Rainbow Harbor.

The screening process stored up 500 quality cars, seen at Wekfest, a premier event to display the most influential builders and designers the automotive scene has to offer. It’s always a pleasure to be in the presence of the Wekfest crew and DAYUUM crew. Check out these snaps from Justin and Gilbert.

Hella clean cars, hella vendors, hella babes, hella people – Wekfest SJ was hella crackin’ all day long! The Tjin Edition X DaYUUM Roadshow brought its hella big trailer to the show in the Bay Area and showed NorCal what we are all about! Our staff was hella tired after with the hella amount of goodie bags we put together. They were just hella flying out the booth with the hella amount of people stopping by. It even got so crazy that Neil Tjin went to the hella top of the trailer to throw out hella more freebies. Let’s just say that the people hella loved it!

Wekfest blessed us with another great event at the Queen Mary Event Center. The venue was filled with more than 500 cars and housed several thousand spectators. Wekfest LA, actually in Long Beach, was the third showing for the Tjin Edition x DaYUUM RoadShow, where we were placed in the infamous “tear drop.” It gave us a beautiful view and a cool breeze. Much cooler than on the black asphalt. Throughout the day, we had a steady stream of enthusiasts in line for our Meguiar’s goody bags. Wekfest LA, was also the first time the Tjin Edition Honda FIT was displayed in the US, other than the SEMA Show, where it debuted. We had special guests, Meguiar’s and Hubert from Phase2 with his stunning MKIV joining us as well.

The Ladies of Wekfest San Jose 2014

As every automotive enthusiasts would know, Wekfest has been known as one of the best automotive event across the entire United States. They are known to put all vehicles and vendors through a filtering process to ensure quality is highly represented at all events. With their stop at San Jose, Ca. this past weekend, Aug. 10, you bet this was another hit that made all the Bay Area folks all excited, even us, who are from Southern California. We made the trip and made it a memorable one. Wekfest LA 2014 – Coverage

The next big stop on the Tjin Edition X DaYUUM RoadShow was none other than the sunny, sea-breezy setting of Long Beach, CA. In the home of the Queen (Queen Mary, that is), Wekfest LA had all the elites on display.

wekfestla-2014-just-02
As hectic as is it was to roll-in and setup in the early morning with an unanticipated bike marathon going on just on the outskirts of the show grounds. It was even crazier once the show finally got started and the floodgate of spectators were opened. Before I start this recap I just want to say how thankful and proud I am of the whole team for stepping up and working hard helping out all the people who stopped by our booth.

wekfestla-2014-just-01 wekfestla-2014-just-04 wekfestla-2014-just-05 wekfestla-2014-just-06 wekfestla-2014-just-07 wekfestla-2014-byron-01 wekfestla-2014-byron-02WKFTLA-1WKFTLA-2WKFTLA-4WKFTLA-7WKFTLA-9WKFTLA-11WKFTLA-14Yup, it takes a lot of effort to make this look this good.

wekfestla-2014-just-08
Oh those bags. Those motherf’n goodie bags…Don’t get me wrong we LOVE our partners and LOVE our guests. But DaYUUM! We put about 400 of these suckers together throughout the entire show!

wekfestla-2014-byron-03
We had a line for days and our asses never quit!

We also got some extra help too. I got a few shots in before the show officially started, but the rest of the show I was ringside. Luckily, Byron Yoshida was with us to lend his expertise to photograph the awesome cars and the lovely ladies. (I’m sure you’ll be able to easily tell which lame photos are mine and which epic ones are his haha).

Just as everyone who entered the venue decided, why don’t we start by checking out what’s going on at our booth?

wekfestla-2014-just-11wekfestla-2014-byron-04
Well if you take a LibertyWalk to your right, you will see a resting Godzilla.

wekfestla-2014-just-12
Be careful as to not get too close. It may bite.

wekfestla-2014-just-09
Next to it was our other beast. Our trailer hauler.

wekfestla-2014-just-10
Our gun slingin’ six-shooter. Pew pew!

wekfestla-2014-byron-05
At the other end, the yes a rocket bunny green Vortech supercharged machine

RAUH-roh! I think we’re missing one…
wekfestla-2014-byron-06 wekfestla-2014-byron-07 wekfestla-2014-byron-08
Of course! This RAUH-Welt Begriff beauty by iForged just chillin’ in a cool Adriatic Blue by our trailer.

No question, we had a lot of love at our booth.

wekfestla-2014-just-13
And if you didn’t feel it, Denny definitely made sure you did (men only!).

There was more WekFun going on else where, so let me take you through all the sights and sounds (we’ll probably just the sights) of the day.

wekfestla-2014-byron-09
Couldn’t help but stare at the Speed Hunters FR-S all day, (maybe because they were directly in front of our booth).

wekfestla-2014-just-14
From demo car to full on show car, Beat-Sonic is doing big things now!

wekfestla-2014-byron-10
Funny, I’ve seen the Evasive s2k a lot thanks to having friends who are Hot Wheels nuts, but I believe this might be the first time I really looked at the actual car live in person.

wekfestla-2014-byron-11
“I like LibertyWalks on the beach, piston coladas, and getting a new drivetrain.” Or some variation of that is probably on most dating profiles of the people here at Wekfest.

wekfestla-2014-just-15
Every time the Queen Mary would blow her own, we thought it was just Brian clowning around in his Benz again lol

wekfestla-2014-just-16
Pure classic. I remember the days of dial-up modems, logging on to AOL, and doing a Yahoo! Images search on all da bomb tuner cars. The Teggy was by far the must have fix-up car then. The memories.

wekfestla-2014-just-18
[Insert caption here]. Sorry, just in so much awe I can’t think up of a proper caption. All I know is that Mikey‘s Teggy never didn’t have a crowd taking pictures of it all over and inside that cleanly rebuild engine bay.

wekfestla-2014-just-17
Take a step back and you can appreciate Canibeat’s triple threat

wekfestla-2014-byron-12
Probably one of my absolute favorite photos I’ve seen coming from Wekfest. Noel‘s super photogenic #notrocketbunny, not aimgain, not ml24, not chargespeed, not tommy kaira, not varis…wait I mean yes Varis widebody uhhh…what car is this again?

wekfestla-2014-byron-13
Another hidden gem was this timeless VW Bug just hanging out in its natural habitat.

wekfestla-2014-byron-14
AirREX GTR basking in the sunlight

wekfestla-2014-just-19 wekfestla-2014-just-20
As clean as a baby’s booty

wekfestla-2014-just-21
The euros were in full force, strutin’ their widebodies all over the place.

wekfestla-2014-byron-15 wekfestla-2014-byron-16
Wekfest was about quality not quantity. And it really helped space the event, giving ample room to shoot beauties like James‘ Porsche.

And now the Pièce de résistance, the moment you’ve all been waiting for. Time to bring out the ladies!

The it’s jdm yo! booth almost always has one of the highest seksi indexes at any show. Oh yea and they have a model’s lounge too, which I think helps a little.

wekfestla-2014-byron-17
The smile that never fails, the gorgeous Sally Mia Kior

wekfestla-2014-byron-18
While Jae wasn’t with us at Wekfest this year, he’s really been obsessed with the whole floral print thing lately. You think Noemii J would let him borrow her top for our next show at Nurotag LA?

wekfestla-2014-byron-19
The first rule of meeting Xena Kai is to not geek out. Don’t geek out, you better not geek out…ahhh!! IT’S XENA KAI!!

wekfestla-2014-byron-20
You’ve seen the Duck Face, the Rawr Face, the Super Kawaii Peace Sign, the Thuglife…
wekfestla-2014-byron-21
well now, we introduce Amy Fay and the all new, Extreme Vogue!

Now that we got you laughing…

wekfestla-2014-byron-22
How about a photoset of the super cute and always amusing Jessica Xioa? 🙂

wekfestla-2014-byron-23 wekfestla-2014-byron-24 wekfestla-2014-byron-25
She’s got them legs fo Xioa!

wekfestla-2014-byron-26 wekfestla-2014-byron-27
Jessica was showing us that seksi model shots don’t always have to be seductive and posed, they can be random and fun too!

wekfestla-2014-byron-28
We promise you, Jessica does NOT have super strength. She is not leaning on the car and pushing it out-of-place. No, no, no…the wheels were like that when we got there. I swear.

And last but not least, our own Hot DaYUUM Hunnies

And there’s a lot more about that the that the that that gurrll here.

What a show, what a show. Always something going on. No one wanted to leave. People were here as early as the crack of dawn and there were still a lot of spectators hanging around after the show while they were still handing out all the awards. No one wanted to leave.

wekfestla-2014-byron-39
So I think I’ve written more than enough. If you’ve hung on this long I either did a great job keeping you entertained or you were desperately waiting for Byron’s awesome model shots at the end and hoping there’s more. Well there isn’t so either go back to the top and read it all again, or check out the other articles we have on our site, or whatever else you want to do. You just can’t stay here cause the show’s over, nothing more to see, unless you want to stalk my Instagram -> @justdayuum <-

Duces!

From time to time we have multiple people of the DaYUUM Family taking pictures and sharing them. In part one, I had a brief ramble of the event, Angie (@angie529)  got a little more in depth with some of the cars in part two, and now, I am going to share Justin’s (@justdayuum) pictures.

Wekfest LA 2013 – Part 2

One of the main reasons I came down South to celebrate my birthday was to attend Wekfest Los Angeles. This was actually my first Wekfest event, and it won’t be my last if I can help it! The atmosphere was awesome and the layout was easy to navigate. This was a very well organized event. I have no doubt that Wekfest LA will be even bigger next year.

Car shows and events are few and far between where I’m from, so this was the first show I’ve been to in MONTHS. Needless to say, I was pretty excited. With very little sleep and an injury from a recent auto accident, I was more than determined to get out of town, down to Wekfest LA and enjoy the weekend. I needed a break. The almost 200 mile drive was more than worth it. I got to spend time with great friends and check out some beautiful cars. What more could this girl ask for to celebrate her birthday?!

I have respect for all car styles, but just like anything else, I do have my favorites. So, here I share with you some of my personal favorites from the show.

DaYUUM

DaYUUM

DaYUUM

As I began to navigate the grassy area, I saw a ton of beauties. However, the first one to jump out and catch my eye was this amazing Skyline GT-R. I am a huge fan of ‘old school’, so my jaw dropped as soon as I saw it. I wanted to hop in and take her back home with me!! Congrats to Mikey on 2nd place in the All Nissan class.

DaYUUM

It’s always nice seeing Neil’s KP61 and Benjamin’s AE71. I love these 2 and always stop to take a look every time I see them at a show. Truly a beautiful pair. Congrats to Neil on 1st place in the Old School class!

DaYUUM

Another one I couldn’t take my eyes off of was Steve’s Lexus LS. Not only was she sitting pretty, but in my favorite color!! Congrats to Steve on 1st place in the Lexus LS class!

Wekfest LA 2013 – Part 1

Its 1:16AM on a Tuesday morning, and I started to think about Wekfest Los Angeles and the happenings of this past weekend. I was totally exhausted and even passed out early on the couch. When I woke up around midnight to crawl into bed, I found myself catching up on the last glimpse of Instagram and our Facebook page. Nilo has really been holding down the fort on Facebook and I contribute when I remember, but I am not as religious as Nilo with all the postings. We recently started an official Instagram (@instadayuum) page because Facebook has implemented changes that require a page to promote with dollars in order to reach all of your followers (so I’ve been told). Instagram is just another outlet for us to express what we do and also to bring you up to date info on our whereabouts and all the exciting events we are involved with. Why InstaDaYUUM? In short, someone is holding on to DaYUUM as if it’s a prize possession. I think the person thinks we are in the 90’s during the URL boom, but in fact, we have been hash tagging #instadayuum for a while now, so it is just as good as DaYUUM.

I wasn’t planning on writing any Wekfest coverage because I’ve been struggling on finishing other write ups but I felt I needed to write something. This is considered part 1. Angie will continue with part 2. Angela, aka Angie, is a passionate enthusiast from the San Luis Obispo area and she came to visit Wekfest to celebrate her birthday with her fiancé. She will finish off the coverage with her ramblings. PS – Happy Birthday Angie!

WEKFESTLA-7316

WEKFESTLA-7336I didn’t get a chance to walk around the show much because it was busy at the booth. The busiest one to date. This year we teamed up with Forjworks from Hawaii whom have blessed us to be a distributor for them on AirREX Suspensions in So Cal. That’s why our booth was split up with AirREX and DaYUUM. With the booth being busy I felt I shouldn’t leave the booth much while Jayson and Scottie hustle with merchandise. I am greatly blessed to have these guys for there passion and drive, as they are able to conduct business while Nilo and I try to take care of all the questions with the AirREX Suspension.

WEKFESTLA-7365

WEKFESTLA-7366In the booth this year, we also had Serena. She is a new face for us and is a new addition to the DaYUUMFam along with our other ladies we have had in the past. We are experimenting with a few new ideas this year so you may or may not see mulitple Hunnies in our booth this year, but we will see how it progresses in the year. I am also happy to see that some of our previous DaYUUM Hunnies hustling and getting gigs in the industry. Anyways, I did get a little chance to walk around the vendor area, I didn’t get far into the grass area and missed some of our friends like Autofasion and the guys at Style Over Comfort, but we did catch up with the guys at FRS-86, Vortech, our brothers at Tjin Edition, and Noel at Canibeat.

WEKFESTLA-7315

WEKFESTLA-7354

WEKFESTLA-7352

WEKFESTLA-7350

WEKFESTLA-7351In our booth we had Glen from Long Beach Auto Tech’s S2K on new gold Weds Kranze LXZ, Jayson’s IS350 with his newest look on Work Emotion CR’s, and Gary with his matte blue wrapped Lysholm charged Camaro done by Infinite Auto Design. It’s crazy how so many people confuse this Camaro for Gene’s Camaro. It’s actually hilarious.

WEKFESTLA-7340

WEKFESTLA-7347

WEKFESTLA-7348

WEKFESTLA-7339

WEKFESTLA-7337

WEKFESTLA-7349On the AirREX side we had M2 Motoring’s Fiesta on Rotiform NUE, Nilo’s vintage (haha) NSX with probably the only RAYS manufactured 3-Piece Ro_Jas in existence, and Yogi’s newly wrapped GS on Weds SA55m.

WEKFESTLA-7319

WEKFESTLA-7326

WEKFESTLA-7327

WEKFESTLA-7357On the vendor side I spotted the Tea brothers (www.frs86.com), Meng and Young in Beat Sonics booth, as well as Mike from Motor Mavens. I have no clue why I dont have an individual shot of Mikes, I swore I took one. I really love the new Work Emotion XD-9 on Meng’s FR-S. The color is a perfect complement to Scion’s Hot Lava.

WEKFESTLA-7325

WEKFESTLA-7328

WEKFESTLA-7331Across the way was Vortech Superchargers / Tjin Edition. They brought out Roberts FR-S that debuted the Gold Forgestar F14F’s 17×11. The company’s own FR-S was also on display.

WEKFESTLA-7329

WEKFESTLA-7330

WEKFESTLA-7320

WEKFESTLA-7322On the flip side, Jon Sibal’s Challenger was sitting pretty as usual. Close by was Gene Tjin’s Lysholm charged Camaro which has been on the selling block for about 2 years now. It appears even buyers with deposits are flakey like pastries. RJ’s Mustang, and Neil Tjin’s Fusion end capped their display. I wonder how many people stuck their heads under his car this time to check out the side exit exhaust.

WEKFESTLA-7332

WEKFESTLA-7333Spitting distance away was Noel’s FR-S which is also AirREX and Vortech equipped. Noel tends to pull a crowd with his Rocket Bunny / Vertex combo, as it was surrounded the whole time to the point that I just gave up waiting for people to get the hell out of the way so I just took a shot. At least I got half the car in.

WEKFESTLA-7341Rodney with Clazzio had a crazy spot right in front of the entrance. I caught up with him at the end of the event as he was packing his clean Prius with a whole lot of booth items. It’s hard to believe he dailies his Prius and transports all the displays. Rodney was so beat at the end of the day but he was still chippery, just less.

WEKFESTLA-7358I happened to step on the grass area briefly and captured Joey’s Q45 from The Chronicles. He’s probably one of the busiest bloggers I know and provides content so quickly that I believe the guy never sleeps. I always poke fun of his lack of sleep, but in reality I do admire his drive and passion for the industry.

WEKFESTLA-7356Other cars I saw in the vendor area.

WEKFESTLA-7355

WEKFESTLA-7362

WEKFESTLA-7364Accuair had some dope black gems.

WEKFESTLA-7334

WEKFESTLA-7335It was also good to see Marissa at the event. She was with VIP Modular.

Well that’s going to wrap it up for me. Stay tuned for Angie’s rambles. I also just saw Justin uploaded some pictures in Dropbox which is still synching, so there may be a part 3 as well. Either way, have a great week and stay tuned.

Thanks.

WEKFEST IV San Francisco 2012

It’s been ten years since the last time I was in Nor Cal.  I lived in San Jose for five months so when I heard about WEKFEST, I was contemplating at first but decided to go since it’s been a decade since the last time I was there. WEKFEST is one of the elite shows in California. There’s always quality when it comes to cars and a massive amount of people. I have yet to experience it since this is my first time attending this event, so with that being said, I will let the photos explain what the Bay Area scene is all about.

Here is one of our friend’s Civic from Tjin Edition. This Civic SI sits on Rotiform wheels. He drove all the way from So Cal to represent for WekFest. We pretty much sat inside the car when we got tired, just to sit because we didn’t have a booth. Thanks Gene for letting us in!

A clean M3 on nice white Volks

A nice Porsche Panamera

This nice NSX looks familiar

One of the few exotics that was at the show

A clean Lexus IS-F

This Evo made me stare at it for a good minute.

Mmmm Silvia.. I believe this is our friend Leon Casino’s ride. Nicely done!

A nice Integra with a clean engine bay

This picture is so funny. Didn’t realize it till I started editing. Do you guys know what I’m talking about?

WekFest was not just about imports but old school domestics as well.

Clean FD

Some wagon love

Another one of our friends from So Cal “Rare JDM’s” own 350z representing for WekFest

Also from “Rare JDM” “Team Vitz” Peter Tadros ride. Nice to see some friends reppin all the way from So Cal.

Another Integra with a clean engine bay

It’s amazing to see a Supra not only with a unique body kit, but also a highway patrol resemblance. Wild would be another word for it. I wouldn’t even take my chance running off of this machine if it pulled me over cause there is no chance at all.

Here’s another view from the back

Some slammed euros

You can’t call it a show if there were no Skyline GTR representing

Another friend of ours from So Cal, Rodney Esteban’s slammed Prius under the Air Runner booth. Definitely a neck breaker.

This thing is bagged!

This Honda Insight is nice. Done right.

This Miata got my attention. With a custom front end conversion, it definitely is a show stopper.

Lotus flower bomb

VIP status

Another clean engine bay

Another friend from So Cal, Big Mike’s famous ‘lude

Another neat engine bay

Keith “Keychain” from “it’s JDM yo” and “Royal Origin” with his accord who also drove all the way from So Cal

An old school mini “very nice”

It’s rare to see a van representing in a show here in California that’s fixed up as JDM style. Nicely done.

Another show stopper that fascinated me. The wrap on this Audi TT was nicely done. Its so clean I even look for little parts that they might have missed but i didn’t find any. Done right.

Here’s a view from the back

A hatch with another clean engine bay

And another one

Candy

Clean Evo

Another nice Lotus

Some S2k love

Some luxury and exotics. I heard this guy drove all the way from So Cal’s Cars and Coffee Saturday morning and arrived at San Francisco late in the afternoon to catch up for WekFest. Pretty crazy and I wonder how many gas stops did he made for the trip.

By the way, this is how packed it was at the show. there’s no room for taking pictures of most of the cars because people are around it so it was really hard to take them. We were lucky enough that we arrived a little bit early before it was open for public so we could at least snap some good shots. To be honest, there were more quality cars that I didn’t get a chance to cover because of the massive amount of people but i tried my best to cover the most that I can.

Here is a dope video from our friend’s at PVR Motorsports!

Oh and before I forget, it wouldn’t be a DaYUUM coverage without the ladies so here’s what most of you have been waiting for.

Miss Trinity Dang (no affiliation with Mikey Dang from PVR.). A hottie from the Bay Area.

Michelle Yee, also from So Cal signing autographs and posing for her fans at the Iclique lounge

Here’s Miss Mars Maylani posing at the iClique lounge

NOS girls

Miss Julie Mai all the way from San Diego representing at Auto Fashion booth

Miss Ashley Vee another hottie from the Bay getting everyone’s attention at the iClique lounge

Miss Stacie Li who’s also from So Cal was there at the iClique lounge

Here’s Miss Alexis Kobayashi from the Bay Area posing under Speed Element booth

Another famous one, Miss Christine Mendoza

Here’s a model that made me drop my jaw. Here’s Miss Trisha Lynn posing with Vex Motorsports

I can just look at her all day

Here’s the gorgeous Miss Genevieve Chanelle. One of the sweetest models you would ever meet. I hope we can do a feature of her one day. If she moves to So Cal, we’ll be the first in line.

She makes me say “oh my god”

Definition of beautiful

Here’s miss Xena Kai sporting a sticker with our friends from “It’s JDM yo”

Another famous model Miss Justene Jaro showing us her new bling G-shocks

The lovely Miss Corissa Furr

She’s keeping it classy

One of our friends representing Low’N Slow crew, who’s also from So Cal, Miss Kristin Nicole Barcelona

All in all, it was a great and huge turnout. Some people would complain about the massive amount of people and some says it should be in a bigger venue but who would complain about attending one of the famous events in the West? You’ll always expect it to be big no matter what. I would do it again next time but with more preparation since now I know what to expect. Before I end this coverage, I would like to give thanks first to the people behind WekFest, for giving us a chance to cover their awesome event. You guys do it big! Thanks for making it possible. Next I would like to say thank you to the Nor Cal CarsxHype crew for welcoming us and the hospitality that they have given from their WekFest pre-meet the night before, it was nice chillin with you guys. Till next time. And to our partners PVR Motorsports, this trip wouldn’t be possible without the collaboration. And last, I’m giving a shout out to all the friends that we met at the show. It was nice to see all of you, knowing that most of you are from So Cal and made the trip up north. Until next time.

I will leave you guys with a photo that would remind me of WekFest, crazy = but fun

Wekfest Hawaii with Forjworks

I thought that I was due for a quick getaway from the daily grind, do a little R and R, good food, drinks, great desserts and listening to the relaxing sound of the ocean… I had Hawaii in mind all along.  This being my second time visiting Hawaii, I was hoping to schedule my visit where I can witness the automotive styling of the Hawaiians, which I’ve only heard about and seen on website.  As I’ve arranged my visit, I was told that Wekfest will happen the same weekend.  I’ve decided that this will be a great opportunity to see some Hawaiian styled cars as well as do an event write-up for DaYUUM.

My first and second day in Hawaii were all about having some fun under the sun, good eats – Zippy’s covered that… and enjoying some good famous shaved ice.

Saturday night, I met up with the men behind Forjworks, Paul Higashi and Marshall Lum, up in Pearl City.  They were getting a matte black wrapped G35 ready for Wekfest and laying the vinyl roll call.  Here I also met the guys from Memoryfab.  They too are in town for Wekfest Hawaii.  Marshall toured me around the shop. I learned that Forjworks is a machine/ custom fabrication shop. They own multiple machining equipment such as – lathe, mill, 5 axis CNC machine and multiple presses to cater the custom fabrication needs of the automotive industry as well as the naval industry in Pearl Harbor.  With the equipment that the shop owns, they are able to design and make custom parts especially for any air ride installation that they specialize in.

Forjworks coming from the words Forge and Works where Forge  ~ Forging, is a common process used in metals, means to enhance the metal’s grain structure and physical properties.  Common materials that Forjworks use in the shop are Billet steel or stainless steel. Forjworks also specializes in molding eyelids, taillight covers and fender flares for various cars.

As we walked around the shop, Marshall showed me one of the most talked about Ruckus’ on the island and the mainland. They’ve fabricated this Ruck and installed the first Forjworks Honda Ruckus air ride kit.  The owner, Ken, added custom alloy wheels, extended rear frame, chromed kickstand, custom front forks, upgraded brake kit, custom alligator skin seat, custom pearl white paint and exhaust.  The Ruck will just catch your attention not only because of its loud exhaust notes but because of the overall build itself.

Marshall then showed me his newly installed AirRex Air Suspension System kit for his 2nd Gen xB.  His air suspension kit is also equipped with a wireless remote to dial in the desired stance of the car.  Moreover, the dampening can also be adjusted.  Dumped to the ground, the xB just sits “like a Bawss”.  I was very impressed with the AirRex System on how it ran so smoothly during operation.  We wrapped up the night by loading things needed for Sunday’s big event, Wekfest Hawaii.

The next day I met up with Marshall and Paul at Auto Customs Shop about a mile away from my hotel.  My eye readily glued on two unfamiliar platforms for car enthusiast – Toyota Sienna Minivans – the Swagger Wagons.  Forjworks just recently completed two custom air ride kits for the Sienna.  The first kit went to the gun metallic grey Sienna own by Auto Customs shop owner Jon.  Jon’s Toyota Sienna is a 2011 SE trim.  With the wagon’s already aggressive look, Jon added a set of 5 Spoke 20in. VVSCV3 Vossen wheels to complete its perfect stance, sporty look and validate that it is a true Swagger Wagon. Seeing this at Auto Customs, I knew first hand that this will be the talk of the show.

Another set of Forjworks’ custom Air Suspension kit went to Ryan’s Silver 2011 Toyota Wagon.  This Sienna is subtle and elegant with its polished wheels but you can’t ignore how dumped it was.

As I walked around the parking lot, I can’t help but notice the slammed Audi A4.  The A4 was owned by Roger who had just purchased the car two months ago.  Completely dropped using the AirRex Suspension kit with Rotiform’s 18×8.5 +35 offset all around – this car just captured the new Audi styling that is so popular today. Roger plans to continue building his car with authentic exterior euro aero parts and install simple bolt-on performance parts to the A4.

Also at the parking lot were Auto Customs’ customer cars such as a Lamborgini with Volks VR Matte black wheels.

As we set up at the parking structure where Wekfest was held, I can’t overlook Blaine’s stylin’ GS350.  As a Lexus / Toyota fanatic as myself, Blaine’s GS is just screamed elegance.  Similar to Roger’s A4, the GS is also equipped with an AirRex Air ride kit.  The big bodied lexus also had a subtle lip kit and 20×9 – 20×10.5 Silver InCurve deep concave wheels that complemented the whole look of the car which was all about class and style.

As I made my rounds at Wekfest,  I saw Pat’s TSX.  I met Pat the night before during my visit at the Forjworks shop.  Pat’s TSX had a Mugen kit, Work wheels and an insane rear camber.  Unlike Roger and Blaine’s rides, Pat’s car is equipped with an Air runner suspension kit to finish off the overall look and stance of this badass ride.  His TSX well-defined the Hellaflush movement and styling.  Pat also excitedly represented DaYUUM Hawaii style – Mahalo Pat!

At wekfest, there was a good mix of cars that filled the 5th, 6th and top floors of the parking structure.  I witnessed how Hawaiians go all out on their rides, VIP cars were like Yakuza fleet cars.

AE86 crew were also in full force to show what they got.

All kinds of insane and sexy Nissan S-chassis rides were at the event as well.

The Goodlife crew were reppin as well with a booth and Dj set up.

A carshow won’t be complete without some eye-candy, and the lovely Ms. Elissa Alva definitely filled that.  She was selling and signing autographs at the Wekfest booth.

I was surely impressed with the cars that I saw at Wekfest.  Hawaiians truly go all out when it comes to their cars.  I thank the guys from Forjworks for letting us hang out with them.  They really are experts at what they do and they know how to get cars to look “Sick” and well done.  Marshall described it best when he said “Forjworks don’t just put bolt on kits on vehicles (especially when installing Air Ride kits) but we fabricate parts to work and fit correctly on a specific car or bike.”

As the day ended, I also came to realize that I only have a few hours in Hawaii.  I had such a good time during my short stay; chillaxing, enjoying the food, beach, cars and company of my new found friends in Hawaii.  I know that it will not be the last but have no doubt that I will see you again…Hawaii, Mahalo… Until the next one… Peace! -jp
