Kuya Model Expo 2

February 22nd, 2014, R1 Concepts La Habra, CA. – The place where Kuya Model Expo 2 was held this year. We were invited by our friend Abe to be a part of his yearly event and to set up a booth. This event was a great event for models to have a safe outlet to introduce or reconnect themselves with the automotive scene. The event had 2 model lounges good enough to house at least 70 models. A large stage was set up for a bikini / lingerie show hosted by model icon, Jeri Lee.

We would like to thank Abe for hosting a successful event and of course having us as a part of the show. Here’s a recap of some of the models that attended the show.

SEMA Show 2013 – The Ladies of Sema

sema2013-0192

We all know SEMA is one of the biggest gathering of everything about automotive and this year marks another impact in the automotive industry. According to the press release, this year’s presence have recorded the largest amount of companies involved and gathered under one roof tallied in its history and I’m pretty sure that goes the same way in attendance as foot traffic was out of the ordinary. As you may all know, last year, the crew decided to pick cars that made it as their personal favorites out of the show for coverage and that’s not going to change this year but we kind of feel that wasn’t enough to sooth you guys viewing pleasures. We decided to add more content out of the SEMA show to give you guys more feel of how SEMA is being done every year. As most media people that got credited to cover SEMA, 90-95% of this coverage are all new cars, new products, and everything automotive related and we all know that’s not all that is there. Of course promoting a name brand is the top priority of these companies and to do that, they usually hire the top, well known gorgeous women in the industry. To these ladies, if they ever get hired to work for SEMA, they know they’ve made a name in the industry and kind of reach the top of their career and that is what we’re trying to show you as the other content for our coverage of this year’s SEMA show. Here are the ladies of SEMA 2013.

South hall is where all the wheels and tire companies are located and if you haven’t been to SEMA, this is the place where most of the models are in attendance and that is why I decided to cover this part of the convention first to get it done with. As soon as I enter the hall, I was greeted by the girls of Falken tires booth as they are placed right by the entrance doors. First off, we have Katie Carnes as she was posing right by the 2010 Falken Porsche 997 GT3 RSR ALMS car and also handing out falken playing cards and lanyards.

Mash Up! Three – Highlights

MashUP3Mash-UP! Three is our 4th collaboration with the Guppy House chain and each event we try to change it up a little. Mash-Up! Three was a celebration of Guppy House’s 8th location and our 2 year Anniversary as a website. We also felt that a charity was necessary, therefore we contacted the guys at Infinite Auto Design to put us in touch with the We Strong Foundation. We chose We Strong because of what Wayne (@waynestrong) is doing. Wayne’s battles with Leukemia gave him the urge to give back to the people that may have it worse than him. Wayne had friends and family to support him and felt that others could use the same encouragement to stay positive and be strong. We thank everyone that purchased a reserve spot and raffle tickets because it all went to a great cause.

I woke up Saturday morning to an email from Danny Nguyen to let me know highlight photos were ready to be download. We chose a dedicated photographer because with all the running around trying to get things handled, it’s rare that the team has time to capture the event. Danny has a creative eye and awesome with night shots so it was fitting to have him shoot the event. Some of you have already seen his work on JDMZipTies.com.

Events aren’t as easy as some may think, especially organized events. Permits, planning, staffing, organizing, purchasing, blah blah blehh.. All take time and money. I would say, I wished I could have planned logistics more smoothly but the early morning complaints from neighboring business didn’t sit well with me, or was part of my plan since the 3 others we planned went without a hitch and had 110% support from surrounding neighbors and the city. Chino Hills, was a bit, ummm… different – to be politically correct. Therefore, half of our planned area was cut short. I’m not 100% sure where the breakdown was, but a phone call and an email from the complex lawyer wasn’t the communication I was hoping for. I’m still perplexed on how they got my email and cellphone number. I’d rather save that type of surprise for an unclaimed bank account that had billions of dollars in it.

Overall, I felt the turn out was good, good only because I’d rather see all the cars grouped together rather than seeing a sick Evo next to a stock 4Runner, it just kills the buzz, at least for me, but what can you do when you’re dealing with public space and bitchy neighbors. Scion Evolution did a great job helping us with the logistics and keeping it real. It’s amazing how many people will name drop just to get through the ropes. Evening name dropping people that are no longer in our family.

We try to mash things up with different styles of cars and talents. Since we are passionate of street art we brought out one of our favorite graffiti crews, NASA. NASA has been around for at least 2 decades and has then moved on to other aspects of design such as apparel and footwear, so its nice to see them out to support.

MashUpThree_2013-9322Here is Just195 in action. This wall also acts as our photo backdrop.

We like a diversity of cars whether its American, old school, new school, it’s all in the appreciation of the enthusiasts individuality.

MashUpThree_2013-9400The lovely Regina Mei (@reginameii) was also in our model’s lounge and taking pictures with fans.

Our grand openings are nothing without music and talent to go with it. DJ Skitz (@deejayskitz) from Awthentik Vibes was our VJ for the night and simply killed it.

MashUpThree_2013-9509

MashUpThree_2013-9515Capturing the event was David, the owner of the Guppy House chain, operating his remote control drone.

In between the go-go sets, we had some raffle prizes that were donated by many awesome supporters such as Rehv Clothing, Wheel Warehouse, DC Sports, AirREX, Scosche, Vaping LA, IZZI Gadgets, and Cadence Acoustics. All proceeds from the purchase of raffle tickets went to our charity, We Strong Foundation.

MashUpThree_2013-9704Winner, winner chicken dinner with a $200 gift certificate for an AirREX Air Suspension

We tried to add a little halloween spirit and held a costume contest. The winner of each category won $100 cash money and $100 gift card to Guppy House. By the time we held the contest it was kind of late, so some of the participants didn’t want to participate anymore or had already dispersed. The contest was split up into 2 groups, scariest/original and seksiest.

We took a short break before the final raffle.

MashUpThree_2013-9954Here is Kallita receiving a winning ticket.. This girl also won a boat load of stuff.

MashUpThree_2013-9983Before giving out our final raffle, we had Wayne from We Strong Foundation say a few words.

MashUpThree_2013-9996Lastly, the IZZI Orbit, AirREX gift certificate, and Scosche headphones was drawn for this lucky winner.

We had Danny stick around to take some group shots in front of the completed photo backdrop done by Just195 and Rich One of NASA Crew. I don’t like having my picture taken so it’s even more awkward when I initiate them, but I always feel it needs to be done. Especially during good times like these, you want to record events not only in your mind but visually. It helps you remember a timeline of life.

We have more pictures coming folks…Until later… @DaYUUMDen

Fontana Nissan – Nissan RaceShop – 5 Meet

FontanaNissan5_0003To Fontana we go…

Lately, it seems like more and more grassroots automotive events are taking place at Auto Club Speedway. It’s where NASCAR’s Auto Club 400 is ran and where the IZOD INDYCAR’s MavTV 500 will race. The INDYCAR’s will race the 2 mile D-shaped oval at speeds of 180-220 MPH. Being in the stands during the early days of C.A.R.T., I’ve always had the itch to be on the inside of the track. It’s where the paddock was, where the action was, and where the behind-the-scenes took place. Several years later, perhaps even decades, it’s happened.

In collaboration with Speed Ventures, the inside area became the home of Fontana Nissan’s 5 Meet in 2013. Traditionally the annual meet was held at their dealership, but in 2012, it completely outgrew the allowed space. Not to mention all the prep work it takes to shuffle ALL the cars off the dealership lot to accommodate a meet or divert customers in a different direction – it’s understandable on why they decided to relocate. But does moving locations give it less of that homely feel? The underground feel? The lack of urgency? We thought it might, but it didn’t.

Fontana_Nissan5-9081

Fontana_Nissan5-9082

Fontana_Nissan5-9083It was the calm before the storm, the well organized event was right on time. Scott Vanderheide, the man that spearheads the meet, kept everyone informed about roll in time, from when the gates were going to open to how the event was laid out. Right before 11AM, Scott informed us and all the vendors that the gates were about to open. Once it did, a line of Nissan’s, like starving ants, came trooping in. One-by-one, pack-by-pack, these well behaved drivers filled the lot. GT-R, S-chassis, Z’s, and amongst others parked with their kind. A steady flow of spectators and participants walked the black top during this 100 degree weather that was easily distracted with the Nissan RaceShop Hunnies.

In between heat strokes and taking turns holding our tents down from the burst of winds that Fontana is known to have, Justin and I made a few rounds to capture some of the awesomeness 5 Meet had to offer.

SpoCom Anaheim 2013 – Part 2 of 2

Part 2 of SpoCom Anaheim 2013 show is where we cover the women of SpoCom. It is known by many that SpoCom is one of the top events to showcase not just about cars, but it’s also considered to be flocked by famous models in the industry. With the collaboration of HIN, having Dannie Riel on tour this year by their side as spokesperson and miss HIN 2013; special guest appearance by Tera patrick at the model lounge; the dance competition; and of course, the bikini contest, what more can you ask from a show?

The only thing that surprises me is how huge the line was just to take a picture or autograph with Dannie Riel. From the moment she arrived, till the closing moments of the show, the line was insane. I didn’t even get a chance to snap some photos of her since the security around her gave us media peeps the look of death and telling us to stand in line even if we’re flashing them our badge/wristbands. I mean what’s the point of being media if we can’t cover the main attractions of the show? Unless if only i was somewhat famous nor had someone went to go walk with me (*cough “Denny” cough*), my chances were zero to none. I know she is famous and has everyone following her around the world but the amount of the crowd on both of the main model lounge and SpoCom model lounge just amazed me on how she outnumbered them. Enough of Dannie, here are the pics.

First one I saw when I started walking around was Jeri Lee working the M7 booth.spocom-0011

Along with Xena Kai on the other side of the booth.spocom-0055

spocom-0173

One of the famous people who’s also the headline of this show is miss Tera Patrick. Greeting fans, taking pics, signing autographs and posters, and of course selling toys err merchandise of her own..spocom-0176

Then I ran into this brat! lol I mean our good sexy friend, Miss Chaba who’s working the Vape Supreme booth showing the crowd how to create big clouds of smoke. lolspocom-0178

spocom-0184

Next to our booth are the ladies of Swisher Sweets selling cigars. (snap of photo as per Denny’s special request)spocom-0212

spocom-0191

spocom-0197

spocom-0208

spocom-0221

spocom-0230

spocom-0242

There were more other models who were in the show and yes including Miss Dannie Riel whom I didn’t get a chance to snap pics with due to them being crowded with other photographers and fans but I just did the best I could to cover every hottie that was in attendance. Apologies to the fans of these models whom I didn’t get a chance to take pics with but maybe next time, I’ll come more prepared. All in all, this was another big turn out and huge success to SpoCom for having a top notch event. We definitely had fun and thanks for having us to be a part of a successful show. Hope you enjoy our coverage. Until next time. Peace.

AirPower Group Hits the Street – Part 3 – Vortech Superchargers

Just released is Vortech Superchargers part 3 of their famous “Hitting The Streets” series. Aside from the impressive cars, this video features the lovely DaYUUM Angels,  Marissa, Ashley, and Amanda as they will take part in 2012’s SEMA Show with the AirPower Group (Vortech, Paxton, Lysholm) at booth# 23063

The 3rd chapter is all about the power, the boost, the lifestyle. Marissa starts off the video with the brand new, hot off the presses Vortech Supercharging System for the 5.7L Challenger R/T. This complete kit takes your HEMI up to an amazing 503 Horsepower and 563 Torque at only 7.5psi.

Next, we meet up with Arseniy’s VF-Engineering Supercharged E92 M3, which utilizes a Vortech V-3 Si Supercharger and brings the Vorsteiner widebody equipped Bimmer up to a staggering 650 Horsepower and 420 Torque. Got a BMW of your own that needs boost? Maybe you should get in touch with VF-Engineering too!

After that, we get a short glimpse of what a ride along with 17 time IJSBA National Champion Dustin Farthing would be like on his Vortech V-50 B60 Supercharged Yamaha Personal Watercraft. Could you hold on when he rockets 0-60 in just over 2 seconds?

The boost and the power keep rising from there, as we catch up to Ashley with Jeremy’s Triple Threat Fox Body Mustang. This car is the real deal, and can impress everywhere – On the street, at the track, or at the car show. Equipped with a built 347 engine and a Vortech V-7 YSi @ 23psi, Jeremy’s Fox annihilates the road with an incredible 806 Horsepower and 689 Torque TO THE REAR WHEELS!

Last but certainly not least, after a little help around the shop from Amanda, Ashton hits the street and then the track with his V-3 Si Supercharged 2012 5.0L Mustang GT. Lapping those other guys is no problem with over 600 Horsepower on tap at just 7.5psi!

Enjoy!

DaYUUM “Trippple Threat” Angels

Not everyday a person has the opportunity to photograph a beautiful woman, let alone three at the same time. We had the chance during the summer to do just that with Edwin from Evolve Photography. We brought in Edwin because of his experience, creativity, and his workflow is flawless. It was also the a special moment where we were able to gather Marissa, Ashley, and Amanda together for a single and group session.

We used Infinite Auto Design in Huntington Beach as our studio for the day. The owner, Brian, allowed us to take over his establishment and moved props around as needed. The shop has ample amount of space for the types of shots we were looking for. Mark from Rehv Clothing kindly brought over his bike for us to use as well. For some of the shots David from Guppy Green House lent us his C63.

With these shots, I hope you guys can experience the beauty in these pictures as much as we did. Special thanks to Edwin, Mark, David of Guppy TeaHouse, and of course the DaYUUM “Trippple Threat” Angels, You can visit them at SEMA 2012 with the AirPower Group (Vortech, Paxton, Lysholm) at booth# 23063

Also, visit their pages on Facebook. Marissa Hiroko, Ashley Clark, and Amanda Kerr.

Praxis Productions Auto Gallery Car Show

The “DaYUUM Crew” turned out in force to support Jimmy Doan of Praxis Cars for the inaugural Auto Gallery Car Show on a beautiful Saturday in Huntington Beach, California. Jimmy is one of the best guys out there in the SoCal car scene so it was truly a pleasure for us to be a part of it all.

Jimmy and his lady Linda Sy are not your average show promoters by any stretch of the imagination. I understand the myriad of reasons for wanting to put on a car show, but the bottom line is making money and that’s why there’s so many of them. Jimmy and Linda wanted to put on a successful show too, but for altruistic reasons that go far beyond personal gain. They simply wanted to give back! We’re talking about two humanitarians with philanthropic hearts who just happen to love cars. ‘Giving back’ to Jimmy and Linda means being a benefactor to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, and they’ve been doing that for six years now. It’s a non-profit hospital that depends on the donations of others to help heal sick children. They provide over 97,000 children with pediatric health care each year and also serve as a research hospital. There was absolutely NO WAY that the “DaYUUM Crew” was going to miss this one!!!

My coffee and I rolled in about 6:30am thinking I’d probably be one of the first ones there…“WRONG!!!” Jimmy and his Praxis Car Crew had already been there for about an hour and a half before I even got there. “WOW!” They were seriously efficient and their organization just blew me away. The main stage was already set up and Jimmy was directing everything like a traffic cop in the middle of Manhattan. I could tell that he wasn’t about to leave anything to chance. Mark Fontecha was wheeling Jimmy’s Toyota FJ around the lot with Jimmy standing on the running boards shouting out directions to everybody. I wasn’t even totally awake yet and that was still a very funny scene!

Mornings at the beach are always great and this one was no different. Joggers running by, National Park Rangers driving by, and Life Guards dressed exactly like police officers…just your typical day at the beach. (LOL) One of the first sponsors to roll in was the PM Racing Team, and if you’re into Formula Drift then you should know who these guys are. At 21, Pat Mordaunt is the youngest of the 154 professional drivers in Formula Drift racing. He was driving the truck that was pulling their full size trailer and he was helping everybody else setting up their display area. This guy was no prima donna and you could tell that he didn’t mind getting his hands dirty either. Pat was really nice guy and told me that he has been racing professionally since he was 14 years old. I also got to speak with a gentleman by the name of ‘Masaki,’ who is the Crew Chief and you could instantly tell that he is a ‘super gear head!’ Both him and Pat were totally excited about the the new Lexus 430 SC V8 that they’re campaigning this season. This ride is running with an actual 430 engine that’s rated 750HP at the wheels! We really want to wish you guys some “DaYUUM” good luck this year!!!

Around this time, Liza and Regi rolled in from Island Motor Sports. For the uninformed, Island Motor Sports has been around since 1995 and is still one of the most complete aftermarket supplies, service and repair shops around. They were totally multi-tasking at the show. Island Motor Sports and DaYUUM.com shared a prime space together and Liza and Regi’s motor home served as Auto Gallery’s “model central” for wardrobe changes and the official make-up trailer. Needless to say, all of the modeling activity was properly supervised by Nilo! (LOL) There were two booth cars and one of them was my 2005 Honda Element EX “Darth Raider,” known as “The Island Element,” that received the “1st Place Honda” award. And the other car was Rodney Esteban’s beautiful 2010 Toyota Prius. It has Air Runner Suspension, running 5Axis custom wheels, a Powerbase 1000 set-up in the rear, and a Clear Pro invisible bra. Rodney’s ride made a “DaYUUM” fine impression!

I started walking around checking out all the new arrivals and the long line of competitors waiting to get into the show. That’s when I ran into a gentleman I not only respect, but he’s also one of the most serious competitors in the car show scene. I am talking about “Big Mike” and I immediately asked him where his ride was. He told me that he wasn’t competing in the show and that he had been asked to be one of the judges. All I can say is that this brought the Auto Gallery Car Show an even higher level of respectability that I had already rated it in its infancy. Just a word to the wise, Mike’s 1992 Honda Prelude will be the ‘cover car’ for Honda Tuning Magazine’s October 2012 edition. So when that comes out, do yourself a favor and pick up a copy!

I have always loved aerodynamically challenged vehicles and that is probably why I drive a Honda Element. (LOL) So I do love the Scion xB, the Honda Odyssey, and all the boxy vehicles they don’t even import here from Japan. So it comes as no surprise that one of my favorite rides I saw was Andy Valles’ 2009 Nissan Cube. This is truly an exceptional ride and has already been picked up for SEMA this year. I would dare to say that I’m not the only one who sees the uniqueness of this vehicle and the tasteful nature of the build itself. It was also a true pleasure to meet Andy’s lovely wife Anna. It’s always refreshing to meet a lady of the house who understands and supports all the creative efforts going on in the garage! (smile) Your ride is pretty “DaYUUM” nice Andy!

Even though Mark ‘Taz’ Graves couldn’t make it his one-of-a-kind 2012 Scion iQ was on hand and took home some winning hardware. I further had the opportunity to meet and chat with Jeff Maldonado. I’m always impressed with young, dynamic people who have the ingenuity, creative energy and the drive to get out there and make it happen.

Jeff also introduced me to Thomas Musante and Alfred Aquiniga of ‘Logan Built’ who were displaying a beautiful blue Scion FR-S. They also own a black 2010 Cube SL that I viewed on DaYUUM’s video coverage of Wekfest, San Francisco.

Now what kind of show would this have been without the gorgeous models that are as much a part of the car scene as the cars themselves?!! I can promise you that the Auto Galley Car Show was absolutely no different. I immediately saw a few of my favorites. They would be the effervescent Miss Holly Lee, the always lovely Miss Emma Rose (aka, the S2K_Grl), and the crowd pleasing Miss Dianna Lushus! Hey, what’s not to love here?!! (LOL)

Not far away, in front of the “VIP Modular Wheels” booth I ran into (from left to right)…Kristy Lei Juan…Melody Quan…Mimi Lee…Jelly Ranger (You don’t think she would make up a name do you? LOL)…and Jessica Fox. Mimi, who has modeled for Playboy and others, served as one of the judges and the Mistress of Ceremonies for the “Miss Auto Gallery” competition.

“DaYUUM.com” was very proudly represented by the vivaciously radiant, blue eyed, seriously blonde… ‘Miss Ashley Clark!’ If you want a real treat then go to our website under Profiles and you can learn even more about this home grown SoCal beauty. I not only enjoyed hanging out with Ashley, but I also got to meet Lisa, who just happens to be her Mom. They say that ‘the apple doesn’t fall to far from the tree’ and this mother and daughter combination certainly proves that! (smile)

I am here to tell you that no matter where you turned there were beautiful ladies everywhere, especially in and out of the “DaYUUM” booth! And one of our visitors was the exquisite Miss Lynn who dropped by to hang out for a while. There was also the alluring ‘Miss Kimberly Jean,’ she and her girlfriend just knew that Nilo needed some cheering up! (LOL)

It was a pretty hot day so I headed over to the NOS booth to get an ice cold refreshing drink of energy. Between the ladies and the cars, there was something exciting to see everywhere you looked. When I got to the booth, the energy drinks they were being passed out by the extremely nice looking and charming Sheila. Sheila was the official ‘NOS girl’ for the event. When she left to go and take some pix, her temporary assistant was even more charming, his was name was “BIG ABE!!!” (LOL hahahaha) When you attend any SoCal event with Big Abe ‘in the house’ you know that people are going to actually think twice about possibly acting stupid!

A few feet away from there was the Auto Fashion, USA booth. I knew that Freddie and his Crew would turn out to support Jimmy and this worthy cause. I got to chat a little bit with him and Elroy and you could tell that they’re getting ready for the 6th Annual VIP Festival on November 4th 2012, in San Diego. One of the cars reppin’ Auto Fashion was Ojay Bayang’s beautiful 1991 Lexus 400. It was great to see him there and we got to catch up a little near the “DOGZILLA” food truck. If you love gourmet hot dogs, then let me give you a quick review…“you must find this truck!” (LOL)

Later on Big Abe came over and hung out for a while with Liza and Regi, and the “DaYUUM Crew” at ‘model central.’ (smile) As I said before, the “DaYUUM Crew” was there in force. Our ‘starting five’ was Nilo…Denny…Jae…Jayce…and ‘The Chief.’Paul was unable to play that day, but we had Mikey coming off the bench! (LOL) What a “DaYUUM” good group of guys!!!

Needless to say, the “bro-mance” between Denny and Neil Tijin of the Tijin Edition Road Show continues! (LOL)

Tony Docuyanan, who is part of our Crew, was also representing his friend Gary Shelum and Infinite Auto Design’s Lysholm Supercharged 2010 Camaro. I’m talking about over 600HP at the wheels and sitting on staggered 22” Hamano wheels that are usually only found on custom BMW’s. This is one aggressive Camaro! Sal’s Vortech Supercharged “Last Ride” was also on display.

Shortly after that I ran into Tony Lee and the guys from It’s JDM Yo and their show display looked like an outdoor showroom. There are obviously some nice Scion boxes out there but Ellison Punzalan’s 2005 xB has got to be one of my favorites. It’s so easy to see all the work he’s put into the build and that extra helping of love also shows! Everything from the beautiful black metallic paint job and the entire VIP style flavor of the interior and exterior of the ride says…”Come check me out!”

The center piece of their display was Michael Mao’s awarding winning twin-turbo Acura NSX. I think that all sports organizations usually like to build their teams around at least one ‘super star’ Well, car show displays work the exact same way and Mike’s car is definitely a “SUPER STAR!!!” Of course you already know that Michael walked away with the “1st Place Acura” honors! (smile)

There were so many sweet rides and such a tremendous turn out, there is just NO WAY in the world that you would have imagined that this was a first time show! It was pretty “DaYUUM” exciting!!!

When I saw Jimmy ridding his beach cruiser headed toward the main stage I knew it was time to find out who “MISS AUTO GALLERY” was going to be! They had an ongoing pageant going on all day with the bikini competition; the after five wear, and even a personality portion of the show. So by this time everyone was pulling for their favorite, but it was time for the Judges to decide who the winner was. ‘Drum roll’…and the winner was…“Miss Amy Ames” of Los Angeles, California!!!

After that Jimmy and the Praxis Car Crew started handing out awards to the First, Second and Third Place winners in each category and acknowledging the sponsors that made the show possible.

The one sponsor who just made me go “WOW” was the one that was donated by Anthony Quanq, Director of Marketing for VIP Modular Wheels. When you custom order a set of two and three piece forged wheels from the top tier wheel companies you can expect for your pockets to be lighter by anywhere from $5K to $7K on the average. The prize they donated to the Auto Gallery Show was a custom ordered set of “VIP MODULAR WHEELS!!!” That lucky ticket was purchased by Al Perez of Barstow, California, and I can promise you that I’ve NEVER seen a happier winner!

All-in-all, it was a beautiful Southern California day and the “DaYUUM Crew” was able to get out and have a great time and contribute to a great cause! We want to thank Jimmy and Linda and the entire Praxis Crew for inviting us. If this is what your very first effort looks like then we can’t wait to see what you’ll have on tap for us next time! We are always out there representing the whole “DaYUUM” community and continually trying to bring you the best of what’s out there…and we will NEVER let you down!
So until next time, please stay ‘tuned’ and always remember that…I’ll see you out on the streets!!!

Here is a Mikey Dang Video

Extreme AutoFest EAF 2012 – San Diego Qualcomm Stadium

Extreme AutoFest (EAF) has been throwing events for more than 10-years and has always been an event rather than a car show. Unlike, other shows that are specifically catered to low riders or fitment based vehicles, EAF has combined the best of both worlds. In short, if you hardly attend car events, EAF is the one to attend.

The crew at EAF didn’t fall short this year in San Diego as they occupied Qualcomm Stadium and packed the venue with drifting, autocross, low riders, imports, girls, live entertainment and girls.. girls.. oh, girls.

In the past, we’ve had members travel to Hawaii and NorCal for events, but this trip was the furthest we have traveled as a crew. Armed with water, munchies, and our display. Jae, Paul, Mikey, Scott, Jayson, Marissa, Josh, and myself headed to San Diego the afternoon before the event to set up and check into our cozy Best Western.

Thanks to our trusty driver (van_dayuum_paul) and our un-trusty navigation system, we had to use 2 systems. We spent most of Saturday afternoon trying to figure out SD’s freeway system near the stadium and got lost on several several occasions. Did I mention several, several? Some blame me for not providing the proper directions because of my relationship with Instagram and Facebook, but someone had to update our whereabouts and coordinate our group! 😛 After being lost 4000x’s, we finally met up with Ashley and Ronnie back at home base and checked into our rooms.

Through it all, we spent time quality together and ended up at Slater’s 50/50 where we met up with Justin, Michelle, and Eliza. We had some bomb eats with our DaYUUM family. (excuse the blur as our waitress wasn’t steady with her hands, obviously)

We ended Saturday night with a trip to the liquor store and shared ghost stories, played a little truth or dare, and dared Jae (dayuumjae) to streak Interstate 805, ok, we really didn’t tell ghost stories, but what if? Hmm…

On Sunday, Amanda and Nilo joined us and the weather was content. We had a nice breeze but the black top, well… it still tends to heat up. Nevertheless the event was as expected. We met a lot of our site supporters, and our own Marissa Hiroko took 3rd place in her first ever bikini contest. She definitely is an industry’s favorite.

We want to thank the stunning and lovely Ashley Clark and Amanda Kerr for joining us (sorry for the picture quality, somehow we failed on that department for taking pictures of our own family except through our phones :(( ) and we thank the crew at Extreme AutoFest for taking great care of us!

It’s time to pass the torch to Jae and Scott for the photos.

Our set up at the day of the show. We had Jayson’s clean IS350 and Nilo’s sexy NSX.

Gun metal blue. Anyone?

Godzilla.

More of Jayson’s IS350.

Some fresh stickers slapped on the NSX.

With Michael Koldus’s Cobalt who’s also from KROPS.

We also found Leo Dignadice from KUYA Protection taking care of the model lounge.

The famous Miata that we saw at WekFest San Fran.

Another Godzilla that was at the event.

Here’s some of our coverage of the girls of EAF San Diego. Starting off with our very own, Miss Marissa Hiroko who also won 3rd place at the bikini contest as mentioned earlier by Denny (DayuumDen).

Saw miss Raquel Estrella modeling with this Tekken themed Lamborghini under Savini booth.

Here we spotted miss Lauren La Carriere while walking around to check up some booths.

EAF set up an ” Island paradise” themed attire for the model lounge. Spotted miss Leianna Kai first while looking around the lounge. Did you guys also know that she could sing? Well now you know.

Who would not recognize the sexy curves of miss Ela Pasion with her bright yellow bikini top.

Right next to her was miss Alexis Kobayashi.

We also saw miss Sheryll Lynn all dressed up and ready to pose for us.

What surprised me the most walking around the lounge was when I saw miss Raichelle Viado. She was creating a crowd right when I saw her. I’ll let the pictures explain it all.

Then we passed by miss Sandra Wong.

Walked the other side of the lounge and I saw miss Veronica Vhynes. To be honest, this was the first time I met her.

Then right next to her was miss Mimi Sarmiento. A good follower of us on our FB page. Didn’t recognize her at first until she introduced herself. It was nice to finally meet you miss Mimi.

Also, right next to her was miss Christine Zegers.

Here we have miss Dianna Lushus and miss Kat Gutierrez.

Started to walk around again cause the lounge is getting packed and saw miss Siray Kong being mobbed by photographers.

Then we saw miss Marie Alvarez working with kapu motor trends booth.

Our friends from Geisha with miss Wendy Lopez, Claudia Lopez, Gina sky, and Jenn the backseat love.

Here’s more of miss Claudia Lopez.

I decided to walk back to the lounge to see who else is there and look who I ran into. Miss April Garcia and miss Amy Ames.

The gorgeous miss Tanya Love. Looking good as always.

Here we have the combo of our good friends miss Kristin Barcelona and miss Chean Labuen.

More of miss Kristin Barcelona

More of miss Chean Labuen.

Also in attendance at the lounge was the lovely Miss Jeri Lee and alongside with her was miss Darling Darla.

Miss Alexia Cortez was also in attendance.

Miss Kay Bae striking a pose for us.

Got a chance to grab miss Lena Love to pose in front of our booth with Nilo (DaYUUMNilo13)’s NSX.

That completes our coverage of Extreme Auto Fest San Diego. Until next time. Peace.

AutoCon LA 2012 – Santa Anita Park – Coverage

It’s hard to believe that AutoCon LA is already on it’s 3rd showing. Each and every year it seems to get larger and larger.

In 2010, it was held in a parking structure somewhere in the City of Industry, an interesting location with suffocating fumes, but successful.

In 2011, it was at the Great Park of Irvine, it took up much more real-estate than the previous parking structure could hold. The event  began in the afternoon and continued to the evening. The roll-in was the largest challenge, as the staging area was short and there was only one entrance.

When it was time for AutoCon 2012 we didn’t know what to expect. No organizer that I know of had thrown an event at Santa Anita Park before. The area was MUCH larger than previous year’s and there was ample room to stage. The check-in process was simple and quick. Though the staggered roll-in times were a little cumbersome but much improved. It would be nice to have show vehicles roll into one entrance, and the vendors in others. Most of the time, vendors have larger support vehicles to haul displays into the event. In our experience with setting up and running events, vendors typically have a morning slot, then the car participants rolled in after.

In any event, it was much smoother than the previous year. The biggest hinder was the weather, it
