The Chronicles - Year V

The Chronicles - Year V

If you live in So Cal there is no denying that the end of 2013 has been pretty busy with events. November has been especially busy for the crew with The Chronicles Year V, SEMA in Las Vegas, VIP Festival in San Diego, and Torque Meet Show in Arizona. In addition, our own fundraiser for the typhoon victims in the Philippines -Taking Action.YearV-7705YearV-7704YearV-7703YearV-7702In the five years that Joey has ran The Chronicles, I never had the chance to attend because of schedule conflicts but I'm glad I was able to attend this year. Joey is highly recognized in the industry and even more in the Honda community. He photographs and writes for many publications in the Source Interlink family. In short, he's a man that doesn't need much of an introduction.I don't follow too many automotive blogs only because I like to focus on our little family at DaYUUM, but I really think he is the hardest working man in the publication industry. Joey will beat himself senseless if there is a day or two without a post. It's like a drug to him. He will stay up all hours of the night then sleep in the day for a few hours, and back at it again. I bring up Joey and not his team because, well, it's only him. He does have a supporting cast of tight friends, but when it comes to content, there is no one else. And, I highly respect that.YearV-7674YearV-7675Nilo, Scott, and I strolled into the event around 2, or I thought. Nilo's clock in his NSX was an hour off so it was really 3. This also explains a lot of how his time management works.YearV-7773It was no surprise to see a high mix of Hondas and Acuras at the event. It was also no surprise to see a ton of people there.YearV-7679YearV-7700YearV-7689YearV-7690When we first arrived we saw Noel's freshly wrapped FR-S moving into position. It sported a bright yellow wrap done by AeroWerkz with Avery material.YearV-7681YearV-7750At the entrance, Style Over Comfort and JDM EGO welcomed the crowd.YearV-7682Nearby was Jonathon Wong's EF on BMD wheels.YearV-7692YearV-7685In close proximity was Jay of JDM EGO's cleanly and well executed FR-S.YearV-7717YearV-7716YearV-7718YearV-7719Along the path was an orange EK. It caught my eye because of the color and the bay. It was done nicely with clean detail. Somehow I didn't manage to catch the whole bay. My bad.YearV-7706YearV-7707Mikey's Skyline GT-R.. If my memory serves me correctly this color only came in the LS trim on the 90-91 models. This appears to be a 90 with 92-93 bumper covers, painted mirrors and moldings. Or it could be a 92-93 painted Jasper Green.YearV-7729YearV-7733YearV-7731A blast from the past is the SSR Bang-Vec II's. It's rare to see this wheel because the popular choice has always been the SSR Mesh, Super Mesh, Fins, and Super Fins. The SSR wheel set back then had magnetic locking center caps. In the late 80's and 90's many popular Japanese import wheels had enclosed lugs and Work Wheels had an intricate 3-piece center cap system.YearV-7723YearV-7725YearV-7724Another popular SSR Wheel, Fins, on this white EF.YearV-7691I love this 280seYearV-7737DaYUUM contributor, Chief's Element.
