WekFest LA 2012 - Long Beach - Vortech Superchargers - Tjin Edition

WekFest LA 2012 - Long Beach - Vortech Superchargers - Tjin Edition

WekFest made its way back to Long Beach this year for the second time. But for geographical popularity, they chose to call it WekFest LA, which confuses some locals. In any case, we had the chance to visit Hawaii for WekFest and earlier in the year we went to WekFest up in San Francisco, therefore when it came time for the LA event we were destined to be there. Long Beach is our backyard; literally, some of the crew, including myself resides in Long Beach and have for many years. For WekFest LA we teamed up with our site partners Vortech Superchargers and our friends at Tjin Edition. We were lucky enough to occupy some space and helped man their booth. Several AirPower group cars surrounded the area.Gene Tjin’s Lysholm powered Camaro led the pack,Followed by Sean’s teal wrapped 350Z sporting the Vortech V-3 SCi Supercharger. And finished off with Sal’s “Last Ride”, also fronting the Vortech V-3 Si Supercharger.Vortech also brought their display of forced induction add-onsTjin Edition was on hand with their Wraptivo Civic Si sitting on dual color Rotiforms. And friends Ian and Nikki joined with their E30 on hot pink BBS’s.The WekFest show was short of disappointing. Plenty of nicely built Honda’s were on hand such as Big Mike’s Prelude and this Red NSX with gold plated Mugen MF10s, both were part of ItsJDMYo’s harem of cars. One of my favorite H-cars was this Jasper Green DA. It brought back memories of when I first started the compact car scene when I had my EF sedan, in fact, I also owned a Jasper Green LS. This Acura Integra (DA) sat pretty, with color-matched moldings and mirrors (although aftermarket), an option that didn’t come factory with this trim (LS, if I am not mistaken, I didn’t spend much time on it). That simple modification was fitting for that era. A newer year bumper was added as well.  It was sitting on SSR EX-C NEOs with color-matched accents. It was different to see it not triple-chromed like how I use to see them.Moving forward, some exotics filled the Queen Mary Event Park, as euros, and various Japanese origin cars also occupied the grass.Making our way back, we spotted this white Camaro with a Lysholm Supercharger as well as this Miata on a very deep set of SSR EX-C Fins.An S14 with a cool license plate.Back by the ItsJDMYo’s model lounge we saw Chaba signing posters andjust on the backside we ran into Leon Casino with his Spoon CR-XAt home base, we got some action with Debbie Sath floating graciously in front of Sal’s “Last Ride”While a paparazzi were flossing Gene’s ride.Freddy of AutoFashion was busy jabbin’ on the cell.WekFest ended on a great note,MV Designz’ Kogi BBQ Scion xD won 1st place Scion. Air Runner had a fleet of vehicles including Jon Sibal’s Challengerand Fuscions iQ and Prius. At the end of the day, the weather was phenomenal, and we are anticipating WekSOS’s next event. I want to thanks Vortech Superchargers, Tjin Edition, and WekSOS for the hospitality. Thanks to Jimmy Dang for assisting in some of the shots. Here is a video recap from PhotoMD[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UyPxUUwwFBQ&w=540&h=330]
