Eibach '13 All Honda Meet

Eibach '13 All Honda Meet

(photography by King Kreole DéMarks)DaYUUM.com really does try to make as many events as humanly possible each year, and I think that this year has been the busiest one ever for the DaYUUM Crew! But if you love what you’re doing, then it’s never considered work!Eibach_2013-076If you’re a real Southern California ‘car person’ and you really want to find out what your ride can do, then you only have two choices. You can either find a professional road racing track, or you can drive your car on the freeways at 6:30am on a Sunday morning. My son PJ and I were traveling south down Interstate 15 early Sunday morning and headed to the Eibach ’13 All Honda Meet! I would never admit to this, but “maybe” my speedometer saw north of the century mark a few times along the way! (LOL)Eibach_2013-089It was an incredibly beautiful morning when we got down there and hooked up with Glen Villanueva from Long Beach Auto-Tech and the ’52 Squad.’ Everyone was already doing their last minute preparations and getting ready for the roll-in. And as if Glen’s S2K didn’t already look dope enough, he premiered his new wheels for Eibach ‘13 and they were beyond “SWEET!” In fact, whenever the 52 Squad shows up, they always represent!Eibach_2013-002Eibach_2013-003Eibach_2013-004For me personally, the roll-in sets the pace for the entire meet and Matt ‘Rodrez’ Rodriquez, our host for the event and Ryan Hoegner from Eibach, did not disappoint! It was well manned, extremely organized and depending on when you registered, you had an appointed roll-in time. The pre-show advertising was well publicized and when you have people like Big Mike and Joey Lee from The Chronicles promoting your cause, you just can’t go wrong! Big Mike even added MC (Master of Ceremonies) to his resume of accomplishments and did a fantastic job!104By the time we got in and started setting everything up, the sun was already giving us our first reminder that we were in the heart of the Temescal Valley. Our day went from hot, to hotter, to hottest! (LOL) The Storm Stadium parking lot was amazing and was easily able to accommodate the 700 plus cars that were expected for the event. Even before the meet opened there were hundreds of people lined up outside the front gate just waiting to get in. I want to give major props to the Events Staff who kept everything moving and made sure that people acted civilly in the hot sun. There was media there from all over and I even met Yamaguchi Tetsuya from USDM JAM over in Japan. He is definitely a big fan of DaYUUM.com! And, one of the very first people that came over to say ‘Hi’ was Freddie Fernandez from Auto Fashion, USA down in San Diego. They moved into new facilities in January, so when you get a chance, be sure to check them out!Eibach_2013-091Eibach_2013-092Eibach_2013-093Eibach_2013-095Eibach_2013-098Eibach_2013-099As I was setting up with the 52 Squad I couldn’t stop looking at all the sweet rides that were pulling in one right after another. This meet was truly what car shows should be all about…beautiful rides and the people who love them!Eibach_2013-035Eibach_2013-033Eibach_2013-034Eibach_2013-009Eibach_2013-010Eibach_2013-011Being an Element guy, I was very happy to not only see Matt Porter and Nick Burtch. Two Elemental Motorsports guys who have seriously nice Elements! I also got to meet a gentleman named Jose, who also had a totally sweet Root Beer Metallic Element SC just like Nick’s.Eibach_2013-061Eibach_2013-060Eibach_2013-058Eibach_2013-062I also ran into Chis Pham from My9th Gen with his “KILER” 2013 Accord EX Coupe slammed on Air Runner suspension. Of course, there is always major Civic/ Integra representation at these meets but not that many Accords, so exceptional ones tend to stand out even more!Eibach_2013-065Eibach_2013-067Eibach_2013-068I also touched base with Chris Pinedo and the NRH Performance guys who had plenty of Honda goodies available. I look forward to seeing them again at the NRH Performance Car Show next month. There were also some rare CDM (Canadian Domestic Market) Acura’s at the meet.Eibach_2013-023Eibach_2013-024Eibach_2013-025As I said before, no matter where you looked, this was a Honda enthusiast’s Nirvana!Eibach_2013-073Eibach_2013-064Eibach_2013-057Eibach_2013-055Eibach_2013-044Eibach_2013-040Eibach_2013-074Spikey wheels! (LOL)Eibach_2013-027And what would any real Honda meet be without Michael Mao’s incredible Twin-Turbo NSX with the gold plated Mugen wheels! I will never get tired of seeing ride!Eibach_2013-017Eibach_2013-018What a beautiful day for a successful meet! Eibach_2013-080Eibach_2013-075Eibach_2013-081Eibach_2013-082Eibach_2013-083Eibach_2013-084Eibach_2013-086Eibach_2013-087There were few food vendors and none of the major food trucks were there, so that was a definite recipe for very long ‘hot’ lines trying to grab something to eat. The overall crowd was pretty orderly and you didn’t have a bunch of stupid people trying to win ‘Exhibition of Speed’ tickets from the local constables! This was really a first class production and I genuinely wouldn’t have expected any less from ‘Rodrez’ and the good people over at Eibach!!!Eibach_2013-005I’m always proud to be out there representing the DaYUUM Crew at different events, getting to see the latest bad ass rides and meeting cool people! That just doesn’t suck at all!!! (LOL) So until next time, please stay ‘tuned’ and always remember that…I’ll see you out on the streets!!!Chief DéMarks
